Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku has refused to give clarity on the future of the Ghana national football team technical crew following the departure of former head coach Otto Addo, leaving uncertainty as the team prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana Football Association had earlier expanded the backroom staff to 19 members in a bid to strengthen the team’s preparation for the tournament, but Addo’s dismissal has now raised questions over whether that structure will remain in place under a new manager.

Addressing the situation, Okraku admitted that no final decision has been taken on the composition of the technical team, stressing that consultations are still ongoing. “I can’t answer for this moment,” he said when asked whether the current staff would keep their roles. “But what I know is that I am leading the charge, engaging all key stakeholders, just to make sure that we have a technical team that will take us to where we desire and where we want to go,” Okraku revealed in an exclusive interview with 3sports.

With the coaching position now vacant, the Ghana FA is expected to name a new head coach in the coming days as preparations intensify ahead of the global showpiece. The Black Stars are scheduled to regroup in May and June for friendly matches against Mexico and Wales as part of their final build-up.

Ghana will compete in Group L at the World Cup, where they face a tough challenge against Panama, England and Croatia when the tournament kicks off on June 11 across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
