Joachim Low has dismissed reports linking him with the vacant Ghana national football team job, insisting no contact has been made as speculation continues over who will take charge ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Recent reports via Ghana Soccer Net had suggested the former Germany boss was close to agreeing a short-term deal with the Ghana Football Association, with the proposed role focused on leading the team at the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
However, Low has now moved quickly to shut down those claims, making it clear that no discussions have taken place. Speaking to Sky Sport, the World Cup-winning coach said: “With me, officially no one from Ghana has spoken.”
His response casts serious doubt over the reports and suggests that Ghana’s search for a new head coach is still wide open following the departure of Otto Addo. Addo was relieved of his duties after a difficult international break, which included a defeat to Germany.
Joachim Low, who has been out of management since stepping down from the Germany national team after Euro 2020, remains one of the most experienced coaches available on the international scene. He famously led Germany to victory at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and oversaw a long period of consistency at major tournaments.
Although he has previously hinted at a possible return to coaching under the right conditions, his latest comments indicate that Ghana has not yet made a move for his services.
For now, the Black Stars continue their search for a new leader as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup, where they have been drawn in a challenging group alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
