Super Eagles will open camp on March 24, 2026, in Antalya as they gear up for a four-nation invitational tournament moved from Amman due to security concerns in the Middle East.

The relocation is not unusual, as Antalya has grown into a preferred training hub for national teams and clubs, thanks to its modern facilities and favourable weather conditions during the international break.

Nigeria will play two friendly matches during the tournament, taking on Iran on March 27 before facing hosts Jordan on March 31. Iran, one of Asia’s consistent top-ranked sides in recent years, is expected to provide a strong test, while Jordan will look to leverage familiarity despite the change in venue.

Both fixtures will be played in Antalya, with kickoff times set for 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. local time.

The invitational tournament offers the Super Eagles a valuable window to build cohesion, particularly as the team continues to evolve with a mix of experienced players and emerging talents. It also serves as early preparation for the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, where consistency will be key.

Nigeria’s last competitive outing came at the 2025 AFCON, where they faced Egypt in the third-place playoff. Since then, focus has shifted to rebuilding momentum and strengthening squad depth under increasing competition for places.

With a controlled environment in Turkey and quality opposition lined up, the upcoming fixtures present a timely opportunity for the Super Eagles to sharpen their edge ahead of a demanding international schedule.
