Akor Adams came close to snatching a dramatic late winner as Sevilla FC battled back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Real Betis in a pulsating El Gran Derbi at La Cartuja.
Betis started the match strongly and took the lead in the 16th minute when Antony scored a stunning bicycle kick, following a blocked effort from Cucho Hernández. The hosts doubled their advantage just before halftime as Álvaro Fidalgo cleverly finished a well-weighted pass from Ez Abde, putting Sevilla under serious pressure.
Sevilla responded after the break, with Alexis Sánchez pulling one back shortly after the hour mark through a diving header from Oso’s cross. The comeback was completed in the 85th minute when Isaac Romero fired home after Betis failed to clear a free kick, bringing the scores level.

Akor Adams was at the heart of Sevilla’s fightback, registering four shots, three on target, 38 touches of the ball, and 21 passes, with 28 of his actions accurate. The Super Eagles forward remained a constant threat, forcing the Betis defence to stay alert until the final whistle.
In the dying moments, Adams nearly completed the turnaround, but his close-range strike from a tight angle was blocked off the line, denying Sevilla a famous derby win. The draw lifts Sevilla to 11th place, while Betis remain fifth in LaLiga, eight points adrift of the top four.
