Galatasaray S.K. striker Victor Osimhen will travel with the team for their decisive UEFA Champions League knockout play off second leg against Juventus FC despite missing their most recent league fixture due to a knee problem, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Osimhen was not included in the matchday squad on Saturday as Galatasaray fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Konyaspor. The Nigeria international had been expected to feature but was withdrawn late after reporting persistent pain in his right knee.

The 27-year-old had delivered an outstanding performance in the first leg against Juventus, registering two assists in Galatasaray’s commanding 5-2 victory. His absence against Konyaspor was described by the club as a precautionary measure aimed at preserving his fitness for the crucial return leg in Turin.

Following the weekend setback in the Super Lig, Osimhen is now set to rejoin the squad as they prepare for Wednesday’s high stakes encounter in Italy, where progression to the next stage of the competition will be decided.

“Victor Osimhen, despite missing the Konyaspor match due to knee pain, will travel to Italy with the team for the Juventus game,” Turkish journalist Nevzat Dindar shared in an update via Forza Cimbom.

Osimhen has maintained impressive form this season, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists across the Super Lig and the Champions League. His performances have continued to draw interest from major European clubs, including FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, who are reportedly monitoring his situation closely.
