Struggling Sevilla extended their unbeaten home run to three matches after grinding out a 1-1 draw against Alavés in a hard-fought La Liga fixture at the famed Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

The hosts were dealt an early setback when Juanlu Sánchez was dismissed inside the opening 16 minutes for two reckless challenges, leaving Sevilla with a mountain to climb. Nevertheless, they shocked the visitors moments before halftime as Djibril Sow pounced on a loose ball, drove into the area, and calmly slotted home to give the Rojiblancos the lead.

Alavés responded positively after the break and restored parity just before the hour mark. A well-delivered corner from Carles Aleñá found Toni Martínez, who powered a header beyond the goalkeeper. The visitors briefly believed they had gone ahead through Lucas Boyé, but VAR intervened to chalk off the goal for a foul in the buildup.

Adams worked tirelessly in attack but could not find the finishing touch, recording three shots with one on target. The Nigerian completed nine of his 13 passes and had 22 touches before being substituted in the 81st minute after an energetic display.

His compatriot Chidera Ejuke was introduced in the 70th minute but struggled to make a meaningful impact as Alavés controlled possession without turning their dominance into a winning goal.

The result nudges Sevilla up to 12th place on the table, while Alavés sit just behind in 13th after failing to make their numerical advantage count.
