Nigeria’s women’s national team added another glittering chapter to their legacy on Wednesday, after being honoured with the CAF National Team of the Year award at the 2025 CAF Awards in Rabat.
The Super Falcons edged out strong contenders Ghana and Morocco to claim the prestigious title, a recognition of their remarkable performances throughout 2025.
A defining highlight of their year was the successful completion of “Mission X”, securing a record extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco last July. Nigeria dominated the tournament, winning five of their six matches and drawing one, showcasing consistency and champion mentality.
Their final act was a thrilling 3–2 victory over hosts Morocco in a five-goal spectacle, sealing their place atop African women’s football once again.
With their latest achievement, the Super Falcons continue to reinforce their status as the continent’s most successful and enduring football powerhouse.
