Nigeria’s Super Falcons have advanced to the third round of the 2028 Olympic qualifiers after securing a commanding 5-0 victory over Comoros in the second leg of their second-round tie at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Trybal News reports.

The 10-time African champions progressed with a 7-0 aggregate victory, having won the first leg 2-0 courtesy of goals from Michelle Alozie and Uchenna Kanu.

Toni Payne opened the scoring in the 41st minute after Kanu won possession from the Comoros goalkeeper and set up the midfielder to give Nigeria the lead at half-time.

The Super Falcons continued their dominance after the break, with Kanu doubling the advantage in the 57th minute, heading home from Folashade Ijamilusi’s cross.

Payne struck again six minutes later, converting an opportunity created by substitute Blessing Okpe to extend Nigeria’s lead to 3-0.

Kanu completed her brace in the 66th minute with another header from an Ijamilusi delivery, before Christy Ucheibe converted a penalty in the 72nd minute after Okpe was fouled inside the box.

The emphatic victory sends Nigeria into the third round of the qualifiers, where they are scheduled to face Morocco in March 2027 as they continue their bid to secure a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
