Interim Super Falcons head coach Augustine Eguavoen has named a 28-player squad for Nigeria’s crucial second-round 2028 Olympic qualifying tie against Comoros, Trybal News reports.
The squad features several established internationals, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin and Ashley Plumptre, midfielders Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini, as well as forwards Asisat Oshoala, Gift Monday and Uchenna Kanu.
Eguavoen has also included a number of younger players as Nigeria continues its push for a place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Christiana Uzoma, Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Favour Nkwocha, Shakirat Moshood, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Janet Akekoromowei are among the less experienced names in the squad.
The players have been directed to report to the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, October 3, ahead of the two-leg encounter.
Comoros are officially designated as the hosts of the first leg on Friday, October 9. However, the match will be played at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne-Remo because Comoros does not have a CAF-approved venue for international fixtures.
Nigeria will host the return leg at the same venue on Tuesday, October 13.
The team that advances on aggregate will move into the third round of the Olympic qualifying campaign, which consists of five rounds and is scheduled to conclude in December next year.
