Paris Saint-Germain have booked their place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League league phase after overcoming Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 following extra time in the second leg of their playoff tie on Wednesday, Trybal News reports.
The victory was sealed by a strong finish from Nigeria captain Rasheedat Ajibade, while fellow Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini also played a significant role in PSG’s progression.
PSG initially appeared set to advance in regulation time after Merveille Kanjinga put the hosts ahead in the 36th minute. However, Frankfurt responded through Rebecka Blomqvist in the 76th minute to force the contest into extra time.

The French side quickly regained the advantage after the restart. In the 95th minute, Echegini delivered a quality free-kick into the Frankfurt penalty area, allowing Kanjinga to finish confidently and restore PSG’s lead.
Sakina Karchaoui then took centre stage, doubling the advantage in the 105th minute after breaking through the Frankfurt defence and keeping her composure in front of goal.
The France international struck again nine minutes later from the penalty spot after Ajibade was brought into the action to win the spot-kick.
With Frankfurt unable to mount a response, Ajibade completed the scoring in the final minute of extra time, firing home in the 120th minute to cap a comprehensive 5-1 victory.

For the Super Falcons captain, the goal provided a fitting conclusion to an influential cameo, while Echegini’s contribution further highlighted the growing presence of Nigerian talent at the highest level of European women’s club football.
PSG now turn their attention to the league phase of the UWCL, having negotiated a difficult playoff tie in emphatic fashion.
