Victor Osimhen endured a frustrating night after sustaining an arm injury as Galatasaray were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League following a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in their round of 16 second-leg clash at Anfield.

The comprehensive victory saw Liverpool overturn a first-leg deficit to advance 4-1 on aggregate, bringing an end to Galatasaray’s European run despite their earlier advantage.
Needing a strong response, Arne Slot’s side started on the front foot and found a breakthrough midway through the first half. Dominik Szoboszlai fired home from a well-rehearsed set-piece after a clever delivery from Alexis Mac Allister to draw Liverpool level on aggregate.
The hosts maintained control for much of the opening period, but Uğurcan Çakır kept Galatasaray in the contest with a series of crucial saves. The goalkeeper produced a standout moment just before halftime, denying Mohamed Salah from the penalty spot after Szoboszlai was brought down inside the area.
However, the second half told a different story as Liverpool raised the tempo and put the tie beyond reach. Quick-fire goals turned the game decisively in their favour, with Hugo Ekitike and Ryan Gravenberch finding the net before Salah added a late fourth with a trademark curling effort to cap a dominant performance.
Galatasaray night was further soured by Osimhen’s injury. The Super Eagles striker was withdrawn at the start of the second half after a quiet opening 45 minutes, during which he recorded just eight touches, one shot, and five passes, with only two finding their target.
Liverpool’s emphatic win sends them into the quarter-finals for the first time in four years, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain, while Galatasaray exit the competition after a difficult night in England.
