Victor Osimhen scored a goal and provided an assist as Galatasaray S.K. defeated Alanyaspor 3-1 in the Turkish Super Lig.

Galatasaray took the lead in first half added time. Lucas Torreira released Sacha Boey inside the penalty area and the defender struck a fine left footed shot into the net to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage going into the break.

Alanyaspor responded early in the second half. In the 49th minute, Steve Mounie headed home from close range after a precise cross from Florent Hadergjonaj to level the score at 1-1.

The home side regained control just before the hour mark. Osimhen attempted an acrobatic bicycle kick inside the box and although he did not connect cleanly, the loose ball fell kindly to Torreira, who fired it into the bottom corner to restore Galatasaray’s lead at 2-1.

Osimhen’s determination paid off in the 83rd minute. He pressed the opposition defence and capitalized on a poor pass from goalkeeper Paulo Victor, collecting the ball and calmly finishing into an empty net to seal the 3-1 victory.

The Nigerian striker returned to the scoresheet after missing Galatasaray’s previous defeat due to a knock and failing to score against Eyupspor on matchday 22. He was substituted in the 86th minute for Mauro Icardi after an impressive display. Victor Osimhen recorded six shots with four on target, completed eight of nine passes and had 26 touches in his 14th league start of the season.

The win moves Galatasaray to 58 points at the top of the table. Fenerbahçe S.K. remain second on 53 points while Trabzonspor sit third with 51 points.

Both teams will meet again in the Turkish Cup on Tuesday, where Galatasaray will look to secure another victory and Alanyaspor will aim to respond to their league defeat.
