Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi made his debut for Olympique de Marseille, coming on in the 90+4th minute to help see out a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1.
It was a thrilling night at the Stade Vélodrome as Marseille fought back twice before sealing victory in stoppage time. Lyon had stunned the home crowd early when Corentin Tolisso fired them ahead inside three minutes. The visitors later restored their lead in the second half, putting pressure on the hosts heading into the final stages.
However, Marseille showed resilience under manager Habib Beye, who celebrated his first win in charge. Igor Paixão sparked the comeback before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang delivered the decisive blow, scoring twice late on, including a stoppage-time tap-in to complete a remarkable turnaround.
With Marseille protecting their narrow lead deep into added time, Nnadi was introduced in the 94th minute. Although he had little action in the closing seconds, the 22-year-old calmly played his part as the hosts secured all three points and ended their four-game winless run in dramatic fashion.
Nnadi only recently joined Marseille from Belgian side Zulte Waregem in a reported €6 million permanent transfer. The Nigerian midfielder signed a long-term deal after impressing in Belgium, where his strong performances attracted interest across Europe.
Born in Ihiagwa, Imo State, Nnadi began his football journey in Nigeria before moving abroad to continue his development. His steady rise through Europe has now earned him a place in Ligue 1, and his late cameo against Lyon marks an important first step in his Marseille career.
