Africa champions The Super Falcons of Nigeria will take part in the West African Football Union B Four Nation Tournament scheduled to hold in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from 27 February to 7 March 2026.
The mini tournament will bring together four West African teams that have already qualified for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, namely Nigeria, hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Senegal.
The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the Super Falcons’ participation, describing the competition as an important part of the team’s build up to the continental showpiece, which will run from 17 March to 3 April 2026.
“We’ll be competing at the WAFU B Four-Nation Tournament in Abidjan 🇨🇮 from Feb 27 – Mar 7, 2026, ahead of #WAFCON2026 in Morocco.” read a tweet on Super Falcons official X account.
The hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Senegal will also feature in the competition as all four sides fine tune preparations for WAFCON.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group C of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations alongside Zambia, Egypt and Malawi, and the WAFU B tournament is expected to provide valuable match fitness and tactical sharpening ahead of the tournament in Morocco.
