Viktoria Plzeň continued their strong league campaign with a 2-0 victory over Karviná, with Super Eagles Striker Salim Fago making his debut in the red and blue jersey.
The first league match featured two sides sitting close to each other in the table. From the first whistle, both teams pressed hard, producing an open game filled with attacking moves. Viktoria’s goalkeeper Wiegele was forced into several saves in the early stages, while Karviná’s Višinský threatened repeatedly in one-on-one situations.
The deadlock was broken in the 27th minute when Denis Višinský found space in the penalty area and calmly slotted home. The second half remained lively, with both teams pushing for goals. Viktoria extended their lead in the 60th minute as Višinský combined with Sojka to set up Souaré, whose precise delivery led to the second goal. Despite Karviná’s attempts to mount a comeback, Wiegele remained alert, making crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet.
