Remo Stars have completed the signing of Cameroonian midfielder Edimo Kingue Franck Alanne as they look to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the Nigeria Premier Football League season. The club confirmed the deal in a statement released on its official social media platforms.
Alanne expressed his excitement about joining the Ikenne-based side, pointing to the club’s ambition, facilities and supporters as key reasons for his move. When asked why he chose Remo Stars, he said, “In relation to the project and the club’s infrastructure, the fans are also always active.”
The midfielder’s arrival comes at a challenging moment for the NPFL champions, who are currently dealing with disciplinary sanctions from the league. Remo Stars were fined ₦7 million by the NPFL over security breaches during their Matchday 20 fixture against Ikorodu City.
As part of the punishment, the league also ordered the club to play all their remaining home matches this season at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. The ruling is expected to affect Remo Stars’ home advantage as the season moves into a decisive stage.
Despite the setback, the club will hope Alanne’s addition can provide a boost on the pitch as they push to finish the campaign strongly.
