Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi endured a frustrating outing as Pisa were held to a goalless draw by Hellas Verona at the Stadio Bentegodi in Serie A matchday 24.

The January signing failed to make an impact and was substituted at half time after a difficult first 45 minutes. Rafiu Durosinmi did not register a shot, completed only two of his nine attempted passes, recorded 21 touches and lost possession 11 times before making way for Mehdi Leris. His Nigerian compatriot Ebenezer Akinsanmiro remained an unused substitute throughout the match.

Pisa created the better openings on the night, finishing with 11 attempts on goal, three of them on target, and creating two big chances despite having just 39 percent of the ball. However, they were unable to find a breakthrough against a Verona side equally desperate for points.

The result leaves both teams deeply embroiled in the relegation battle. Pisa and Hellas Verona sit 19th and 20th respectively on the Serie A table, with both clubs level on 15 points after 24 matches.

The contest came amid turbulence for both sides, who have each recently dismissed their head coaches. Verona, still searching for their first win of 2026, have now gone eight matches without victory, recording six defeats and two draws since Christmas, including five matches without scoring. Interim coach Paolo Sammarco faces a significant challenge to halt the slide.

With only three wins between them all season, the stalemate did little to ease the pressure on either club as the fight to avoid relegation continues.
