Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi has completed a move to Italian Serie A side Pisa SC from Czech club Viktoria Plzen, marking a major step forward in the 23-year-old’s career. The striker, who turned 23 on January 1, had drawn strong interest from clubs across Europe as he entered the final months of his contract, which was due to expire at the end of the current season.

Viktoria Plzen confirmed that Durosinmi had been left out of the squad for their training camp in Benidorm, Spain, while negotiations progressed. The club also revealed that there had long been an understanding with the player that he would be allowed to leave for the right opportunity abroad.

Pisa, currently fighting to stabilise their position in Serie A, moved quickly to secure his signature, reaching an agreement with both Plzen and the player. Durosinmi heads to Italy on the back of an impressive spell in the Czech Republic, where he scored 13 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions. Among his highlights was a well-taken goal in Plzen’s 2–1 Europa League win over AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in October.

The transfer now gives Rafiu Durosinmi the platform to test himself in one of Europe’s elite leagues, while Pisa will look to his power and finishing ability to strengthen their attacking options for the rest of the campaign.
