Head Coach Justine Madugu has unveiled a 25-player squad for the Super Falcons’ high-profile international friendlies against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in Yaoundé, as preparations intensify for the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade headlines the list alongside first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, while attacking options Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo are also included for the double-header.

The squad reflects a blend of experience and fresh inclusions, with Canada-based midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene returning to the fold after a prolonged absence. Forward Gift Monday also makes her comeback, having missed Nigeria’s triumphant outing at the last continental showpiece in Morocco.

In goal, England-based Comfort Erhabor receives her maiden call-up, while Mexico-based defender Chidinma Okeke is back in the squad. Tanzania-based midfielder Precious Christopher earns a first invitation as well.

Regular faces such as Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Ashleigh Plumptre, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun, Jennifer Echegini, Omorinsola Babajide and Folashade Ijamilusi retain their places as Madugu keeps faith with the core of the squad.

The first encounter against Cameroon is scheduled for Saturday, 28th February, with the second fixture billed for Tuesday, 3rd March in Yaoundé. The matches are expected to provide stern tests for the nine-time African champions as they fine-tune strategies ahead of the continental tournament.
