Nigeria’s U20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, have stepped up preparations for their FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash against Senegal, resuming camp in Abuja as the race to Poland 2026 intensifies.

The team opened camp on Saturday, January 4, 2026, at the Westpoint Hotel, Abuja, with 17 players currently in attendance and more invited players expected to join in the coming days to complete the squad.

Training sessions are already underway, with the technical crew focusing on building team chemistry, tactical shape and physical fitness as they fine-tune preparations for the crucial double-header.

Head coach Moses Aduku confirmed that the team is progressing steadily, revealing that players are being closely monitored while structured sessions are designed to ensure both tactical discipline and peak performance.

Our preparations are going according to plan. We are assessing the players and working on tactical organisation and overall team balance to ensure we are fully ready for the matches, Aduku said.

Nigeria will host the first leg of the third-round qualifier at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, on Saturday, February 7, before traveling to Dakar for the return leg scheduled for Saturday, February 14.

With a place at the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland at stake, the Falconets are determined to secure a strong result at home before heading to Senegal for the decisive second leg.
