The National Sports Commission (NSC) has activated its registration process for the 3rd National Para Games, scheduled to run from March 26 to April 3, 2026, as preparations intensify for the country’s flagship para-sport competition.

The online registration portal, which went live on February 17, signals the formal commencement of administrative procedures for participating states. The Commission has urged states to meet all deadlines to avoid disruptions ahead of the Games.

As part of the build-up, the NSC outlined a two-stage verification process, the Pre-Delegation Registration Meeting (Pre-DRM) and the Delegation Registration Meeting (DRM).

The Pre-DRM will focus on reviewing entries submitted through the portal, correcting inconsistencies in athletes’ data, confirming sports participation by states, and briefing designated officials on accreditation requirements.

The DRM, which follows afterward, will serve as the final clearance stage. During this phase, all required documentation will be validated before accreditation tags are issued to eligible athletes and officials.

Accreditation remains central to the smooth organization of the Games, providing structured access control, identification, and security coordination for athletes, coaches, technical officials, media personnel, and other stakeholders throughout the competition period.

In a notable development, the NSC confirmed that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has made its Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja available as the official Games Village. The arrangement follows collaboration between both bodies and is expected to provide a comfortable and centralized accommodation facility for participants.

With just weeks to the opening ceremony, the Commission says it remains committed to staging a well-organized and inclusive event that continues to drive the growth of para sports across Nigeria.

States are expected to strictly adhere to all registration and accreditation timelines as the countdown to the 3rd National Para Games gathers pace.
