Nigeria Customs and Vipers dominate CAVB Zone 3 Volleyball Club Championship

Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Team and Vipers Volleyball Club have made a strong statement at the ongoing 2026 CAVB Zone 3 Volleyball Club Championship in Ghana with commanding victories in both the men’s and women’s categories, Trybal News reports.

In the women’s competition, Nigeria Customs Service began their campaign with a hard fought 3 to 1 win over Ghana Immigration Volleyball Club, taking the match 22-25, 25-18, 25-13 and 25-20. The reigning CGC Volleyball Premier League champions followed up with an emphatic 3-0 victory against AS Douanes VC, winning 25-18, 25-16 25-8.

Vipers Volleyball Club, who are the 2025 National Division 1 champions, also impressed in the women’s event. They defeated Dynamic VC 3-0 with set scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-20. The team maintained their momentum with another straight sets victory over Sonabel VC, winning 25-17, 25-14 and 25-20.

In the men’s category, Nigeria Customs Service continued their winning streak by overcoming All Stars VC 3-0, sealing the match with scores of 25-15, 25 -20 and 25-17.

Team Manager of Vipers, Jabar Suraj Abiodun, praised the players for their commitment and strong start to the competition. He assured that the team would remain focused as their mission in Ghana is to win the trophy.

Vipers captain Esther Mbah also appreciated the club’s management for making their participation possible. She said, “I want to thank the management of Viper VC for ensuring we attend this championship. The tournament will assist the squad in making a huge mark in the upcoming 2026 CGC Volleyball Premier League.”

Sports Director of the Nigeria Customs Service, Samuel Onikeku, expressed satisfaction with the performances of the teams. He credited the success to the support of the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and the management.

Onikeku said; “I want to commend the players, coaches and entire crew for their performance at the ongoing Zone 3 CAVB Club Championship.

“The win can be attributed to the continuous investment of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, CGC Adewale Adeniyi and his management; the players are properly motivated before, during and after tournaments.

“Our main objective is to return home with the trophy as we did in Ghana last year during the 2025 Super Cup”.
