The Extraordinary General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation will take place on Monday, March 23, 2026, in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
Governor Douye Diri is expected to declare the meeting open at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa.
Top dignitaries billed to attend include National Sports Commission Chairman Shehu Dikko, Director General Bukola Olopade, Senate Committee on Sports Chairman Abdul Ningi, and House of Representatives Committee on Sports Chairman Kabiru Amadu.
The assembly will bring together chairmen and secretaries of Football Associations from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, alongside members of the NFF Executive Committee, management, and representatives of the leagues, coaches, referees, and players’ bodies.
NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau will deliver the welcome address before the commencement of the business session.
Key discussions will focus on proposed amendments to the federation’s statutes, electoral code, and general assembly standing orders. The Congress is also expected to appoint members of the NFF Electoral Committee, the Electoral Appeals Committee, as well as an independent auditor.
Officials from FIFA and CAF are already in Nigeria to observe the proceedings.
