2024 African Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman, was named Man of the Match after an outstanding performance in Nigeria’s 3–2 victory over Tunisia in their AFCON group-stage clash, a result that confirmed the Super Eagles’ qualification for the Round of 16.
The Atalanta forward played a decisive role in the encounter, contributing one goal and two assist. Lookman provided the assist for Wilfred Ndidi’s and Osimhen’s goal before later finding the net himself with a composed finish that proved vital in securing the win.

Beyond his goal involvement, Lookman was a constant threat with his movement, creativity, and work rate, repeatedly troubling the Tunisian defence and linking play effectively with Victor Osimhen and the midfield.
Speaking after the match, Lookman noted that the Super Eagles played very well until Tunisia scored their two goals, but described the performance as an overall good one. He also urged Nigerian fans to continue supporting the team as the tournament progresses.
With another top-class display, the reigning African Player of the Year once again highlighted his importance to the Super Eagles as they head confidently into the knockout stages of the Africa Cup of Nations.
