Ibrahim Olawoyin registered an assist as Çaykur Rizespor secured a 3 to 0 victory against Kasımpaşa S.K. in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.
The assist was Olawoyin’s first in 17 league appearances this season. The Nigerian midfielder played a key role in the team’s attacking movement, especially in the build up to the third goal.
England born Nigerian winger Adedire Mebude was also on the scoresheet. In the 80th minute, Mebude finished off a quick counter attack with a right footed strike from the right side of the box into the bottom left corner after being set up by Olawoyin to seal the win at 3 to 0.
Olawoyin featured for the full 90 minutes and delivered a steady performance. He completed 30 of his 38 passes, recorded 57 touches and did not attempt a shot on goal. He has now started 15 of Rizespor’s 18 league matches this season.
The victory moved Rizespor up to 10th place on 27 points in the league standings.
