Nigerian striker Gift Orban was unable to make the decisive impact as Hellas Verona were held to a goalless draw by Pisa in their Serie A matchday 24 clash, extending a frustrating run for the forward who could not add to his seven league goals this season.

Despite enjoying 61 percent possession at the Stadio Bentegodi, Verona struggled badly in the final third, managing just three shots throughout the contest and failing to register a single effort on target. The lack of cutting edge summed up a difficult night for the home side as clear chances proved hard to come by.

Gift Orban led the line for much of the game and came closest to breaking the deadlock when he struck the woodwork. He remained on the pitch for 82 minutes before being replaced by Daniel Mosquera. Over the course of his outing, the Nigerian forward attempted two shots, completed 10 of his 17 passes, recorded 29 touches and lost possession 10 times.

The draw did little to ease the pressure on either side, with both Verona and Pisa locked in a fierce relegation battle. With only three wins between them all season, both clubs recently parted ways with their head coaches and were looking for an immediate response, which ultimately failed to materialise.

Hellas Verona are still searching for their first win of 2026, having recorded six defeats and two draws since Christmas, including five matches without scoring. Interim coach Paolo Sammarco faces an uphill task to lift the team out of danger.

The result leaves Hellas Verona and Pisa rooted at the foot of the table in 19th and 20th positions respectively, level on 15 points as the fight for survival intensifies.
