The Ghana Football Association has released the list of participants selected for the first batch of the CAF Licence A Coaching Course, marking a major step in advanced coach education in the country.

The programme, which forms part of the Confederation of African Football coaching pathway, will be hosted by the GFA from February 17 to 26, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The 10 day intensive course is backed by CAF and is designed to equip coaches with elite level technical and tactical knowledge required to operate at the highest levels of African football.

The selected group brings together a mix of experienced coaches and emerging talents drawn from different backgrounds, reflecting a deliberate effort to strengthen coaching capacity across the continent. Participants will undergo a demanding schedule of classroom and field based sessions covering modern tactical concepts, player development, leadership, performance analysis and match preparation, all tailored to meet CAF standards and global best practices.

The CAF Licence A is regarded as one of the highest coaching qualifications on the continent and is a key requirement for coaches aspiring to work with top flight clubs and national teams. The course also aligns with the CAF Coaching Convention and underlines the GFA’s continued commitment to education as a tool for long term football development.

Among those selected for the programme are Emmanuel Mensah, Abega Wilson, Dora Zutah, Winfred Dormom, Godwin Attram, Sadique Abubakar, Seth Osei, Enoch Daitey, Isaac Amarh and Sandra Boakye. Others include Welbeck Oppong, Mohammed Hamza Obeng, Henry Wellington, Bernice Adutwumwaa, Anita Wiredu, Hamza Mohammed, Yakubu Mohammed and Joseph Agyemang Jr.

Former Ghana internationals Laryea Kingston and John Paintsil are also part of the list, further adding prestige to the course and highlighting the growing shift of ex players into coaching roles as they seek to give back to the game through knowledge and experience.

The CAF Licence A Coaching Course is expected to play a significant role in raising the standard of coaching in Ghana and across Africa, while preparing participants for leadership roles at the highest levels of the sport.
