Fulham Football Club have welcomed Super Eagles trio Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze back to their training ground following their involvement at AFCON 2025. In a video shared online, Fulham players were seen greeting the returning Nigerians, patting them on the back and ushering them back into training as they rejoined the squad.
The three players had been away in Morocco with the Nigerian national team, where they helped the Super Eagles secure third place after defeating Egypt in the playoff match on Saturday. Their return comes as a boost for Fulham, who have missed their presence in recent weeks.
Fulham head coach Marco Silva had earlier expressed his excitement about welcoming the trio back, noting how important they are to his team. Before departing for the tournament, Iwobi, Bassey and Chukwueze were all in excellent form and were key members of Silva’s starting lineup.
Despite their absence, the Cottagers managed to cope impressively, losing only two of their last eight matches in all competitions while playing without the Nigerian contingent. Their resilience during this period kept them competitive across fixtures.
Now back in West London, the trio are expected to be available as Fulham prepare for their next Premier League clash. The club will host Brighton at Craven Cottage in January as they look to build on their recent form with their Nigerian stars back in the fold.
