Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has formally submitted a 19-point proposal to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as negotiations over his future with the senior national team intensify.

Chelle, who signed a two-year contract in January 2025 with an optional extension clause in favour of the federation, is seeking a review of his existing terms. Central to the proposal is a new monthly package of $130,000, a figure understood to cover his salary, technical crew and personal assistant.

The Malian tactician was originally tasked with qualifying Nigeria for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and reaching the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. With those objectives not achieved, discussions have now shifted toward redefining his working framework with the federation.

Beyond remuneration, Chelle’s submission outlines several structural and welfare-related requests. These include the provision of a private SUV with chauffeur and security, accommodation in a well-secured environment with uninterrupted power supply, a fully furnished office equipped with analytical tools, and dedicated internet services.

He is also requesting flight tickets for his immediate family, GPS provision, and guaranteed access to training equipment in line with his technical requirements. The proposal further seeks authority over the choice of international friendly matches based on opposition, structured camping programmes, and the freedom to initiate youth development initiatives.

Chelle’s document reportedly emphasises the need for operational autonomy, including non-interference in team selection and player invitations. He is also seeking formal working contracts for his backroom staff, provision to travel both abroad and within the domestic league to monitor players across all national team levels, timely salary payments before the 30th of each month, and bonuses and allowances in accordance with federation structure, including coverage for his personal assistant.

The proposal also calls for monthly strategic meetings involving all national team coaches to enhance coordination across different age grades.

With the submission now before the NFF, the federation faces a significant decision regarding the financial and administrative implications of the demands as it plans the next phase of the Super Eagles’ programme.
