Côte d’Ivoire made a blistering start to their TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations  campaign (U-17 AFCO), thrashing Central African Republic 6-1 in a dominant Group D display on Tuesday evening in Morocco.

Alynho Haidara stole the show with a stunning four-goal haul, netting in the 4th, 13th, 41st, and 55th minutes to lead his side to victory. Anan Otto briefly gave Central African Republic hope with a 45th-minute strike, but additional goals from Mobio Franck and Yannis Touali sealed Côte d’Ivoire’s emphatic win.

With this commanding performance, the former champions storm to the top of Group D, setting an early marker in their U-17 AFCON title pursuit.
