Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman opened his goal account for the season in style, scoring a stunning equalizer as Atalanta battled to a 1-1 draw with AC Milan in Bergamo on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles attacker delivered a lively performance, leading Atalanta’s fightback after Milan had taken an early lead through Samuele Ricci’s deflected strike. Lookman brought La Dea level in the 35th minute, racing onto Mario Pašalić’s precise pass before smashing an unstoppable left-footed shot into the top corner.
The goal, his first of the campaign, reignited the home crowd and reminded everyone of his attacking flair and composure in front of goal. Lookman continued to threaten Milan’s defense, linking well with Charles De Ketelaere and forcing several key saves from Mike Maignan.
Despite late chances for both sides, including a brilliant Maignan stop to deny Davide Zappacosta, neither team could find a winner. The result keeps Atalanta unbeaten but marks their fifth consecutive Serie A draw.
For Lookman, however, it was a night of resurgence, a confident display and a much-needed first goal of the season that could spark another strong campaign for the Super Eagles Forward.
