Sevilla’s Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke put in eye-catching contributions as the Andalusians crushed Real Oviedo 4–0 at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Sunday. A result that will have Super Eagles fans smiling as the national team gears up for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The scoring opened almost instantly, Akor Adams finished clinically in the 4th minute to hand Sevilla an early lead, and Djibril Sow made it 2–0 on 22 minutes before Batista Mendy extended the advantage after the break. Chidera Ejuke put the gloss on the win with a brilliant solo strike late on to complete the 4–0 scoreline.

Adams and Ejuke, are both members of Nigeria’s 28-man AFCON squad, and their form in Spain is timely. The Super Eagles final squad was announced earlier this month and includes several Europe-based stars expected to shoulder Nigeria’s hopes in Morocco.
Why this matter
With AFCON kicking off in Morocco later this month, club form is the best indicator coaches have of match fitness and confidence. Adams’ early strike and assist in Seville showed the striker’s sharpness, while Ejuke’s late solo goal highlighted his pace, directness and ability to change a game, qualities that can be decisive for the Super Eagles on African soil.
AFCON 2025 is set to be played in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, and Nigeria will be hoping contributions like Sunday’s carry over into continental duty as coach Eric Chelle looks to blend club form with national team cohesion.
In short, Sevilla’s 4–0 win was not only a welcome three points for the club, it was also a perfect dress rehearsal for two Super Eagles attackers. If Adams and Ejuke keep producing at this level, Nigeria will travel to Morocco with serious firepower up front.
