Super Eagles coaches and team officials have arrived in Turkey ahead of this month’s international friendlies against Iran national football team and Jordan national football team, as preparations gather pace in Antalya.

According to team media officer Promise Efoghe, the backroom staff touched down in Istanbul before continuing their journey to the team’s base in Antalya, where the training camp officially opened on Tuesday.

“Super Eagles camp for the international window opens today in Antalya, Turkey. Coaches and team officials have arrived Istanbul and will touch down in Antalya at noon. Arrival of players expected today before Close of Business. More info shortly”, the media officer revealed.

Both matches will be played in Antalya following a late change of venue due to security concerns in parts of the Middle East, with the fixtures originally scheduled to take place in Amman.

Head coach Éric Chelle had earlier named a 23 man squad for the games, but the team will be without key figures including Victor Osimhen, Ola Aina and Stanley Nwabali.

The absence of Osimhen due to injury and Nwabali, who is currently without a club, highlights a reshaped squad as Chelle looks to test new options following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Fresh faces such as Emmanuel Fernandez, Philip Otele and Collins Yira Sor have been included, offering opportunities for new players to stake a claim.

Experienced names including captain Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman are expected to play key roles, with Lookman likely to lead the attack in the absence of Osimhen.

Nigeria will open their fixtures against Iran on Friday before facing Jordan on March 31, as Chelle begins the next phase of rebuilding the team.
