Fulham FC secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Burnley FC in Saturday’s Premier League clash, with Nigerian trio Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze all featuring prominently for the hosts.

Burnley made the brighter start and took the lead through Zian Flemming, but Fulham responded strongly as Josh King netted his first Premier League goal to bring the game level. The momentum shifted fully in Fulham’s favour when Harry Wilson fired them into the lead, putting the home side in control.

Fulham dominated large spells of the game, with Iwobi at the heart of their attacking play. The midfielder dictated tempo throughout, completing 60 of 75 passes and registering 86 touches over the full 90 minutes in an influential display.

Bassey was equally impressive at the back, delivering a composed performance across the entire match. The defender recorded 82 touches, made three clearances and completed 68 of 76 passes as Fulham maintained control and limited Burnley’s attacking threat.

Chukwueze was introduced in the 61st minute for Oscar Bobb and looked lively after coming on. The winger found himself in two promising scoring positions but was unable to convert, finishing the game with 12 touches and completing 8 of 9 passes.

Fulham sealed the win late on when Raúl Jiménez converted from the penalty spot in stoppage time after Josh Laurent was sent off, effectively ending Burnley’s hopes of a comeback.

The result lifts Fulham to ninth place on 44 points as they continue their push up the Premier League standings.
