Victor Osimhen delivered a commanding performance with two assists as Galatasaray cruised to a 5-1 victory over Eyupspor at Rams Park on matchday 22 of the Turkish Super Lig, moving the league leaders to 55 points and extending their winning run to four matches.

Galatasaray made a perfect start, taking the lead in the second minute. Osimhen swung in a precise cross from the left flank and Yunus Akgün rose highest to power a header past the goalkeeper for 1-0.

Eyupspor threatened an immediate response in the seventh minute when a loose pass in midfield sent Umut Bozok through on goal, but Galatasaray goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır produced an excellent save to preserve the advantage.

Victor Osimhen nearly doubled the lead in the 20th minute after being picked out with a neat pass. He rounded the goalkeeper but saw his effort cleared off the line. Five minutes later, Jerome Onguene came close to equalising for the visitors, only for Çakır to parry away his header.

Galatasaray increased the pressure and created further chances. Mauro Icardi tested the goalkeeper with a left footed strike from distance in the 31st minute, which was punched clear for a corner. From the resulting set piece, the home side made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. Noa Lang’s effort from outside the box was parried into Icardi’s path and the Argentine striker reacted quickly to tap in the rebound.

Eyupspor’s problems worsened in the 38th minute when Bedirhan Ozyurt was sent off after a heavy touch allowed Akgün to break through on goal before being clipped. Osimhen then headed over the bar shortly after as Galatasaray continued to dominate.

The home side extended their lead three minutes into the second half. Eyupspor attempted to play out from the back but lost possession to Osimhen, who rounded the goalkeeper and, instead of shooting from a tight angle, squared the ball to Icardi to finish comfortably for 3-0 in the 48th minute.

Icardi completed his hat trick in the 70th minute. A deep pass found Burak Yılmaz in the box and although Osimhen’s initial effort was scuffed, Icardi was on hand to convert from close range. Eyupspor pulled one back a minute later when a defensive lapse allowed Metehan Altunbaş to score from inside the area.

Galatasaray sealed the emphatic win in the 87th minute with an own goal. Osimhen was again involved in the build up, laying the ball into the path of Wilfried Singo on the right. His low cross into the box was turned into his own net by Onguene to make it 5-1.

Victor Osimhen had further opportunities to score late in the match but was unable to convert. He finished with six shots, two on target, one blocked effort and one big chance missed. The Nigerian striker also created two big chances, completed 11 of his 12 passes and recorded 33 touches in an influential display that underlined his importance to the league leaders.
