The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been drawn in Group C of the 2026 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations alongside Zambia, Egypt and Malawi following the official draw held on Thursday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, Morocco.
Nigeria will begin the defence of their continental title against familiar opposition in Zambia, a side they defeated 5-0 on their way to lifting the trophy in Morocco last year. That dominance was later challenged when the Zambians edged the Super Falcons in the third place match at the 2022 WAFCON to claim the bronze medal, adding extra intrigue to their upcoming group meeting.
Egypt will make a return to the competition for the first time since 2016 and will be appearing at their third WAFCON overall, while Malawi are set to make history with their debut appearance at the tournament.
Elsewhere in the draw, hosts Morocco headline Group A where they will face arch rivals Algeria, alongside Senegal and Kenya. Group B features former champions South Africa, who have been drawn with Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Tanzania. Group D pairs Cameroon and Ghana together, with Mali and Cape Verde completing what is expected to be a highly competitive group.
Morocco will host the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for a third consecutive time, with the 2026 edition scheduled to run from March 17 to April 3 as Africa’s top women’s national teams battle for continental supremacy and hope to dethrone the Super Falcons.
