Venezia manager Davide Nicola has praised Akor Adams after the striker scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Napoli at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo on Saturday.
Adams struck four minutes into the second half to secure a valuable three points for Venezia. The Nigerian forward capitalised on a defensive error by Napoli’s Benoît Badiashile before firing the ball into the net.
As a result, Venezia claimed their second Serie A victory of the season. Meanwhile, Napoli suffered their third defeat of the campaign.
Nicola prefers to focus on the team rather than individual players. However, he praised Adams for his commitment, ability and potential to improve further.
“I don’t like to talk about individuals. Adams puts his heart and soul into it, he has some very important qualities, he helps the team. Akor has incredible room for improvement,” Nicola was quoted as saying by Pazzi di Fanta.
Akor Adams strengthens Venezia’s attacking options
Akor Adams match winning display underlined his growing importance to Venezia as they seek greater consistency in the Italian top flight.
The striker completed the full 90 minutes against Napoli and remained a threat in front of goal. He registered six shots, with three on target, as Venezia secured an important win.
However, his contribution extended beyond shooting. Adams completed eight of his 17 passes, recorded 36 touches and covered 10.8 kilometres during the match.
The victory also gives Venezia a timely boost as they prepare for their next Serie A fixture. They will travel to face Genoa on Sunday, 25 October 2026, hoping to build on their impressive result against Napoli.
Nicola will hope Adams can maintain his form and continue to develop as Venezia look to collect more points in the coming weeks.
