Inter Lagos FC head coach Shakiru Giwa has resigned from his position following the club’s decision to dissolve its entire technical crew with immediate effect, Trybal News reports.

Giwa leaves the Lagos-based side after guiding them from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), achieving a historic milestone in the club’s development.

In a statement published on its social media platforms on Tuesday, October 13, Inter Lagos acknowledged Giwa’s contribution to the club’s growth, particularly his role in securing promotion to the top flight.

The club described the achievement as a significant moment in its history, expressing appreciation for the coach’s dedication, commitment and service.

His role in guiding Inter Lagos FC to the NPFL will remain a valued part of the club’s story,” the statement read.

Inter Lagos also wished Giwa success in his future coaching endeavours as both parties move forward.

His resignation comes as the club continues its campaign in the 2026/2027 NPFL season, with the management yet to announce a replacement or provide details regarding the composition of a new technical crew.

Giwa’s departure marks a significant transition for Inter Lagos, who must now determine their next technical direction as they seek to establish themselves in Nigeria’s top flight.
