Nine players and members of the technical team have arrived in Ikenne, Ogun State, as the Super Falcons begin preparations for their 2028 Olympic qualifying tie against Comoros.
Nigeria will face Comoros in the first leg of the second round on Friday, 9 October, at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne Remo.
New Super Falcons media officer Brenda Shima confirmed the arrival of the players. Eight of them that have arrived come from the Nigeria Women’s Football League, while one plays abroad.
The players in camp are:
“DF-Farida Abdulwahab (Nasarawa Amazons)
DF-Tumininu Adeshina (Edo Queens)
MF-Joy Igbokwe (Nasarawa Amazons)
MF-Fatimoh Solaty (Nasarawa Amazons)
GK-Christiana Uzoma (Edo Queens)
FW-Blessing Nkor (Dynamo Brest, Belarus);
DF-Valentina uroko (Edo Queens)
DF-Glory Edet (Bayelsa Queens);
FW-Sandra John(Rivers Queens)”.

Austine Eguavoen will take charge of the Super Falcons as interim head coach for the two legged tie.
He will work with Christopher Danjuma and Ayisat Yusuf, who have joined the coaching staff as assistant coaches.
Former Nigeria goalkeeper Olatunji Baruwa will oversee the goalkeepers as the team prepares for the crucial Olympic qualifiers.
Super Falcons face Comoros in two matches in Ikenne
The wider technical team also includes Oboduku Mary Bose as team administrator and Garba Larai Hyedima as team doctor.
Nwachukwu Adaku and Onah Melody Chimkwesiri will serve as physiotherapists. Dr Terry Eguaoje will handle performance analysis for the team.
Ann Okoro has taken the role of safeguarding officer, while Falokun Folashade Elizabeth will work as coordinator.
The appointments give Eguavoen a full technical and support team ahead of Nigeria’s latest attempt to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games.
Nigeria will host the first leg against Comoros on Friday, 9 October. The match will take place at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne Remo.
Comoros cannot host the first leg at home because they do not have a CAF approved stadium available for the fixture.
As a result, the same stadium in Ikenne will also host the return leg on Tuesday, 13 October.
The arrangement means both matches in the second round tie will take place on Nigerian soil.
The Super Falcons will therefore look to make home advantage count across the two games as they target a place in the next stage of the Olympic qualifying campaign.
